Admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 1991, Robert has a practice that focuses on government, complex intergovernmental relationships and conflicts of interest. He has expertise in the government’s role in the legal system from both a civil litigation perspective and an administrative law perspective. He specializes in dealing with issues with both a public law and a private law aspect, including the civil liability of government bodies.
Robert represents governmental bodies, quasi-governmental organisations, institutions and companies. He is a past-president of the Dutch Bar Association and the Rotterdam Bar Association.
Robert is a member of the Association of Environmental Lawyers and the Association of Construction Lawyers.
Having practised Dutch law since 1990 and being admitted to the Netherlands Bar that same year, Frank specialises in issues intersecting both criminal law and administrative law. He assists businesses and managers in various sectors, including construction, port operations, trade, fisheries and transport. Frank is also active in the area of corporate criminal liability. He represents clients suspected of fraud, money laundering, bribery, corruption, forgery and other financial or economic offences.
Frank serves as a disciplinary judge for the legal profession on the Disciplinary Board in The Hague. He is also an assessor for the Bar’s mandatory training course for all newly admitted Dutch lawyers.
Frank is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers and the Dutch Association of Professional Discipline Lawyers.
Remko has been registered with the Netherlands Bar since 2007. He specialises in Dutch administrative law, where he advises and represents clients in administrative proceedings and civil litigation, including at the appeal level. He has particular expertise in the law on governmental enforcement measures. The criminal undermining of commerce and the enforcement of public order are recurring themes in Remko’s practice. He advises and represents clients dealing with various government-related issues, such as fines and other administrative sanctions, government enforcement measures, regulatory issues, government integrity screening, home evictions and other public order actions, and various social benefits issues. Remko’s practice often involves multi-faceted cases, for example, a company dealing with the consequences of incidents and accidents at the workplace.
Remko assists governmental bodies, quasi-governmental organisations, regulators, institutions and companies.
Remko publishes and gives lectures on topics arising in his practice. He is also a substitute judge at the Hague District Court (administrative law section).
Admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 2020, Olga mainly assists governments, companies and other legal entities with spatial planning and environmental law matters. She advises clients on environmental planning procedures, enforcement procedures and environmental law in general. She also represents these clients in related proceedings. She is attentive to and mindful of complex administrative dynamics and conflicts of interest.
In addition, Olga works at the intersection of public and private law, focusing in particular on government liability law. She also advises and litigates on the application of the Open Government Act and on privacy issues (GDPR).
Before switching to the practice of law, Olga gained extensive experience in these areas as in-house counsel in the Legislation and Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
Admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 2020, Laura focuses on cases involving both criminal law and administrative law. Laura assists companies and their directors after their involvement in industrial accidents. In addition, Laura regularly provides assistance to companies active in construction, port operations, trade, fishing and transportation, particularly when they find themselves facing regulatory action, enforcement or a criminal investigation by an investigative body or by enforcement authorities.
Laura assists companies, managers (including de facto managers) and employees when they are suspected of fraud, money laundering, bribery, corruption, forgery or another financial or economic offence. Laura also handles environmental crime cases.
In his practice, Ruben deals with intersectional cases involving administrative law, criminal law and civil law. In addition, constitutional law and fundamental rights have his special attention, not just in a Dutch context but also in the European and international legal context. Because of his experience abroad, Ruben often works on cases with an international character.
After studying Dutch law at Utrecht Law College (LL.B.), Ruben obtained a B.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge. He then completed an LL.M. in Corporate Law in Amsterdam. He was admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 2023.
Esther’s practice is in the field of administrative law, particularly healthcare law. She has extensive experience in these areas of law as in-house counsel for the municipalities of Amsterdam and Haarlem and also for two government departments (the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport). Many of Esther’s cases deal with issues intersecting various areas of law. She assists her clients to deal with the impact that remedial sanctions (herstelsancties) and punitive sanctions (bestraffende sancties) can have on stakeholders.
Esther has completed the Grotius Academy’s specialist course in healthcare law. She is a member and former deputy chair of the external objections committee of the Municipality of Rotterdam. She was admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 2025.
Sarah is a Dutch criminal lawyer, working particularly on cases intersecting criminal and administrative law. She is also active in assisting clients with administrative criminal law matters and education law matters.
Sarah obtained an LL.B. and an LL.M. (cum laude) from Radboud University in Nijmegen. During her studies, she worked as an assistant helping professors with teaching and research. After graduating, Sarah lectured at the Open University on constitutional law, the philosophy of law, European law and international law. She was admitted to the Netherlands Bar in 2025.
Casper has been active as a Dutch criminal lawyer for over 20 years. Because of illness, Casper has had no choice but to end his legal practice. However, Casper is still affiliated with our office as a legal adviser. Given his experience, he advises on and assists with complex corporate criminal cases and investigations. Casper is also an important sounding board for younger colleagues.
